Early plans are underway to redevelop Sidney Smith Hall as an iconic building that integrates accessibility, sustainability, and inclusivity. In partnership with the Faculty of Arts & Science, the Innovation Hub is looking for feedback to inform the redevelopment.
Designing with Accessibility in Mind @ Sidney Smith Hall
Share your thoughts about how the Sidney Smith Hall redevelopment team can put accessibility at the forefront. The aim is to create a barrier-free environment for students, staff, faculty, and community members of all backgrounds and abilities. Your feedback will help inform the redevelopment team to explore accessibility needs in the design process and design a space that will welcome all members to the new iconic landmark.
The feedback sessions are an opportunity for students with disabilities to share their perspectives and experiences.

Indigenous Spaces @ Sidney Smith Hall
Share your thoughts about how the Sidney Smith Hall redevelopment team can apply Indigenous worldviews and perspectives in the design process. Share how you feel the relationship between spaces and places reflects the land that Sidney Smith Hall resides on. We invite members of our community to share thoughts and insights on creating meaningful Indigenous spaces that will inform the redevelopment of Sidney Smith Hall.
The feedback sessions are an opportunity for Indigenous students, staff, and faculty to share their perspectives and experiences.

- Friday, February 17th, 2023, 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM (Virtual)
Participants will receive $30 in TBucks after attending the session as a thank you!

Sidney Smith Hall Redevelopment Focused Sessions will be offered both in-person and virtually on Zoom. Students are encouraged to attend for the entire duration of the session. The session will be run by Innovation Hub Student Design Researchers. Students are welcome to take breaks during the session as needed.
Being on camera, using your mic, or participating in the chat is encouraged when attending virtually. We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. Students are welcome to bring their own questions to the event.
If attending in person, all paper, pens, and materials will be supplied by the Innovation Hub. You are welcomed to bring a laptop, tablet, smartphone, and/or notebook/agenda should you wish to take any notes, however, not required.

If attending in person, this event will take place on campus at the University of Toronto. Location details are found through the sign-up form.
Technology & Sound
If attending this event virtually, this event will be taking place over Zoom and will require a computer or device with this platform installed, with speakers or a connection to a headset. The majority of sessions will be dialogue based, where questions will be posed verbally and through the Zoom chat function.
If attending this event in person, TV screens and speakers will share the PowerPoint slides and sound, respectively
