Welcome to the Innovation Hub!

Located at 230 College Street at St. George Campus, our space is where our student teams & community members can meet, connect, and make a difference. Whether it’s team meetings, collaborating on a project, or contributing to our research, we’re so excited to connect with you!  

We are located on the third floor of the UTSU Student Commons Building and can be reached by elevator or stairs. For more detailed instructions on how to get to our space, please see any of the drop down items below.

Getting to Our Building

Location

UTSU Student Commons Building
(previously known as the Architecture Building)

Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm 
Saturday & Sunday: Closed 

Getting to the Building by Transit

Using the 510 Spadina Streetcar (North or Southbound):

  • Exit at the College St stop.
  • Continue East until you reach Huron St.
  • Enter at the door on the West side of the building.

Using the 506 Carlton Streetcar (East or Westbound):

  • Exit at either the Beverly or Spadina stop.
  • If exiting at the Spadina stop – continue East until you reach Huron St.
  • If exiting at the Beverly stop – continue West until you reach Huron St.
  • Enter at the door on the West side of the building.

Using Line 1 Subway:

  • Exit at Queen’s Park Station.
  • Head West along the North side of College St. until you reach Huron St.
  • Enter at the door on the West side of the building.

Using Wheel-Trans, Taxi, or Car Service(s):

  • Our address can be used (230 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1R2), with particular instructions for pick-up/drop-off at College & Huron, on the North-East side of Huron.

Getting to the Building by Car

Closest paid parking at UofT is available at the:

  • BCIT Parking Lot: 213 Huron Street, Toronto, ON, M5S 1A2 - 416-978-7275
    • Cash Parking: $4.00 half hour $25.00 Maximum from 7:30am until 10pm
    • M - F 4pm to 11:59pm $10.00
    • Weekends $10.00
    • Cash parking receipts are not transferable and are valid at the parking lot where purchased
    • Lot Reserved "C" Permits

Additional Parking Lots include:

  • 55 St. George St. (Lot A Parking Lot)
  • 60 St. George St. (Physics Parking Lot)

Find Us Once You're Here

To ensure that we can all be in the space safely, please enter through the Huron St. Entrance. A UTSU member will be available to do a UCheck. Please complete your UCheck prior to coming to our space. If you are not a U of T student member or staff, please contact us in advance to make arrangements to come to our space.

Once you have arrived at the Student Commons Building, here are some steps on how to find us:

  1. Enter through the Huron street entrance (photo) & provide your UCheck verification with a UTSU Member
  2. Turn down the first hallway on the right-hand side. An accessible entrance is available
  3. Turn left once you go through the door (towards the wall of mirrors)
  4. The elevator will be accessible on the right hand side
    • If you are visiting our community space, go to the third floor. An Innovation Hub team member will come to greet you at room 300.
    • If you are visiting our offices, go to the 2nd floor. An Innovation Hub team member will greet you in the main lobby!

If you would like to access our space through the stairwell, follow steps 1-2. The main stairwell is available in the main foyer on the 1st floor.

Building Exterior

  • Curb cuts on the path to the building entrance - Y

  • Handrails are on both sides of the stairwell/ramp that are continuously graspable - Y

    • Flexible seating and space options are available with moveable furniture

    • Space has 10+ tables with wheels, and two height adjustable, stationary tables

    • 30+ chairs with wheels available in the space. Chairs without wheels are also available

  • Blinds to block any natural light - N
  • Television screen, projectors, and/or space to present is available – Y
    • Two large TVs available on either side of the room. UofT students & staff can log in and display virtual meetings, materials and more
  • Audio is available on any Televisions – Y
    • Adjustable audio is available on both screens
    • Clear microphone quality for hybrid learning and collaboration

Additional Amenities:

  • Water filling stations are available next to all accessible washrooms
  • Open student spaces available on 2nd & 5th floors
  • Microwaves available on 5th floors
  • Additional amenities such as coffee, tea, and snacks available in our community space
  • Bike racks are available on the West Side of the building (Huron St. Doors)
