Hello! My name is Mia Sanders and I’m a training facilitator for the Innovation Hub this year, along with my co-facilitator, Margaryta Ignatenko. Both Margaryta and I have been with the Hub for almost two years, during which we’ve had the privilege of engaging with hundreds of students and staff who are invested in improving the student experience at UofT. From our vantage point, what sets the Innovation Hub apart is the array of methodologies that team members are exposed to throughout their time here, including Design Thinking, Ethnography, Integrative Thinking, and Anti-Oppressive Practices.

I joined the Innovation Hub a year ago because I care deeply about improving the student experience at UofT. As a second-year undergrad student, I’ve encountered first-hand the ups and downs of being enmeshed in an educational institution, especially one as vast as ours. The work of the Innovation Hub is important and exciting to me because it brings together individuals from all across the university to effect sustained change in students’ lives—including my own.

Hello there! Our names are Danielle Lum and Mia Sanders, and we’re members of the 2018 Innovation Hub Summer Team. Danielle just started in her position of Project Assistant, and Mia is continuing their role as Storyteller. As our first public duty, it’s our great pleasure to introduce to you our amazing summer team. Since the Innovation Hub’s inception two years ago, hundreds of students, staff, and faculty from across the university have come together to tackle challenges around improving student life here at UofT. We’re indebted to everyone who has contributed their valuable time and energy thus far, and we’re excited to build on their work at this juncture of the Innovation Hub’s evolution.

Choosing the team for this summer was not an easy task, but we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. We’re looking forward to a generative, activating, and challenging summer at the Innovation Hub. Keep reading to get to know our team!
