Stories from a Distance encourages students to find community through conversation. Students can expect to be welcome into a virtual space (over Zoom) created by and for students looking to invest in meaningful connections within their campus community over the Summer.
Here’s what this coming week will look like:
ResourceXChange: Happy Thanksgiving!
Monday, October 12 at 6:30 – 7:30 PM, Hosted by Sanskriti
No scheduled programming on Monday, October 12.
Fireside Chats: Let’s Talk… Growth Mindset
Wednesday, October 14 at 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Hosted by Sanskriti
As academics and life in general gets overwhelming, it is extremely important to remind ourselves to stay positive. This session is an opportunity for everyone to learn and share how we can improve the way we talk to ourselves. Let’s take this opportunity to exchange ways in which we can make use of positive affirmations to keep ourselves motivated. Through this, we can remind each other that what we say to ourselves matters and the difference it can make in our attitudes.

FreestyleFriday: Gaming Night
Friday, October 16 at 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Hosted by Mona
Calling all board game enthusiasts! This Friday, the Stories from a Distance team is getting competitive with some virtual board games. Join us to play classic games like Codenames, Scattergories and Spyfall, and of course we are open to any suggestions during the session. In all of our sessions, participation is encouraged but never required! This student-led session held over Zoom is the perfect opportunity to have fun and take a break from school or work with other U of T community members.
