Stories from a Distance encourages students to find community through conversation. Students can expect to be welcomed into a virtual space (over Zoom) created by and for students looking to invest in meaningful connections within their campus community over the Fall & Winter.
Here’s what this coming week will look like:
ResourceXChange: Cancelled
Monday, November 9 at 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Cancelled, please check out our Facebook page for resources!
Fireside Chats: Bonding over Buzzfeed
Wednesday, November 11 at 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Hosted by Mona
Which type of bagel are you? Join the Stories from a Distance team as we take and bond over the silliest Buzzfeed quizzes. During this 1 hour Zoom call, you will likely learn which Mean Girls character you are and what your choice of cake says about your personality. This student-led session is the perfect opportunity to have fun and take a break from school or work with other U of T community members. All bagel types are welcome!

FreestyleFriday: Short Movie Night
Friday, November 13 at 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Hosted by Sanskriti
Welcome to a Stories’ From a Distance Movie Night! Sometimes the shorts played before the movie are better than the real thing. This Friday, come hang out with other U of T students looking to unwind and connect in our virtual space. We will be playing some short films over Zoom and have a casual conversation about our thoughts. In all of our sessions, participation is encouraged but never required!
