This Summer at the Innovation Hub we have been so grateful for continuing our work by students, for students. We have had opportunities to continue to grow ongoing partnerships, while also engaging in new work and ideating projects. In a time where we are uncertain about many things, we want to offer our potential team members the opportunity to both contribute to the university and learn new skills.
We’re looking for dedicated students who are interested in improving campus life by focusing on student needs, who want to work with design thinking inspired methods, or are passionate about engaging with communities and want to support students in a variety of ways. Ethnography Lead

The Ethnography & Insights Team Lead oversees data collection and analysis for all Innovation Hub projects. Leading a team of Research Assistants who are embedded within individual design research projects, they oversee the participant recruitment plans, design of interview guides and observation plans, collection and transcription of data, de-identification and anonymization. This includes reviewing transcripts and coaching team members on effective ethnographic and empathy-based data collection and supporting the effective analysis of data to uncover themes and insights. They also support the research teams in presenting and reporting on the results of their analysis.
Data Analysis Lead

The Data Analysis Team Lead oversees data entry and analysis for all Innovation Hub projects. Leading a team of Research Assistants who are embedded within individual design research projects, they support the collection and transcription of data, de-identification and anonymization, coding in a qualitative research software program, and full data analysis. This includes overseeing the analysis of ethnographic data to uncover trends and distill key themes and insights (such as values and needs) and support the research teams in presenting and reporting on the results of their analysis.

The Innovation Hub Digital Storyteller team creates the digital content for the Innovation Hub’s website, reports, presentations and other materials. This is a highly strategic role that involves strategic planning for the Innovation Hub’s digital content. Working with the broader team, the Digital Storyteller brings to life content produced within project teams with visual imagery, models and infographics. Creating original graphics, maintaining and developing Wordpress websites and formatting professional reports are key functions for this team. Team members will create compelling presentations of design research data, blog posts, website content, promotional material, and more.

The Community, Social Connection & Support role will involve working with the Stories from a Distance team to continue to build resources and connections.
The Community, Social Connection & Support role will work as part of a staff and student community of practice (CoP) that focuses on community building with all students, supporting those who are experiencing isolation and loneliness. Seeking to engage students and partners from across the tri-campus in identifying challenges to social connection and finding community during the pandemic, members of the CoP will share resources and make recommendations for the development of collaborative programming and/or resources that meet emerging student needs. The goal of this CoP is to ensure that every student can find community and support during these challenging times, should they wish to do so.
Transforming the Instructional Landscape

Incorporating the needs of all these stakeholders is complex, but working together can transform spaces to better support teaching and learning.
