The sun is out, and the summer is fast on its way. The Innovation Hub is welcoming our wonderful team to kick off Summer 2023 Work Study. We are located at 230 College Street and come say hello to our team in Room 300.
Our team this summer has 31 team members. We have undergraduate and graduate students coming from many backgrounds ranging from business to engineering, history, geography and more. Meet our wonderful team of students, designers, and change makers at the University of Toronto.
Summer 2023 Projects
This year, we are excited to begin some new design research projects. Our current projects include:
Commuter Student Spaces
Creating welcoming spaces for commuter students is crucial for fostering a sense of belonging on the St. George Campus. In partnership with Spaces & Experiences, the Innovation Hub’s Design Research team will explore the needs of commuter students, particularly students from equity-deserving populations to make design decisions for future spaces and modifications to existing spaces.
International Students First 48-Hours
International students enrich the University of Toronto with their diverse perspectives and experiences. In partnership with the Office of the Vice-Provost, International, the Innovation Hub’s Design Research team will identify 8 diverse international students who are willing to document their first 48 hours in Canada. Using video diaries, the students will document their experiences in real time. Data collected will help build a better understanding of what it is like for international students when they first arrive in Canada.
