So at this point in the new year most of us will have received our grades back from last semester. Perhaps you're also assessing all of those personal, non-academic goals you had set for yourself at the beginning of the…
This is my first year at U of T, and when I found out there was such a thing as January exams (not just at U of T but in Universities in general) I am not gonna lie my heart…
Everybody hates January. After a well-deserved break from courses, assignments, readings, exams and –for some – the cold commute, we’re back to reality. Thankfully, while reality does include mountains of coursework, commuting in all kinds of weather and a general apathy that comes with the second semester… it also includes campus physical activity programming! I kid you not, if it weren’t for aerial silks and Jiu Jitsu, I don’t know how I’d put my toque and winter boots on every morning to trek to school. I’m hoping you all can also find something to be excited about and to make this semester a little more pleasant!
7 more days!
I’m happy to announce that on top of circus and jitsu, I’ll be continuing my ice princess adventure this semester in the Skating Level 1 registered class at Varsity Centre! I’m currently looking for a pair of skates to call my own, but it’s great knowing that rentals are available if I don’t find the right fit in time.
One of my new year's resolution was to improve my photography methods by taking a picture a week
January is the month of New Year's resolutions – discounted gym memberships, free calendars, half price journals and schedules, cook books with new recipes for the year, etc. It seems as if everyone is ready to ditch their old habits from the previous year and start a fresh positive life. However, as January ends, this hype slowly fades away. Why?
Looking back on my (almost!) four years of university, I think I'm most proud of how much my time management skills have improved since high school. Part of it has been out of necessity -- I've taken on far more…
I never imagined myself living a whole ocean away from Toronto; away from U of T, my parents and my comfort zone. In my final summer at U of T, I took a leap of faith and applied for the summer abroad program. This just happened to be the first year that they offered a psychology course and it was a topic that I was extremely interested in. Not to mention, they were offering 1.0 credit in just a month, which also made it easier for me to convince my parents to let me go to England by myself!

Reflecting on another stressful holiday season
“So, how’s school going?”
“What are you studying?”
“And what do you plan to do with that degree?”
The only thing scarier than homemade fruitcake and the song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” during the holidays is the bombardment of questions from relatives and family friends pertaining to my career during holiday get-togethers. However, I could easily be persuaded that their responses to my answers are even scarier.
Happy New Year, U of T! When New Year's comes around, I've never been one to make New Year's resolutions. I couldn't see the point, especially when I knew that I would inevitably give up after a week (at most).…
I have just finished my classes in London and cannot begin to explain how overwhelmed I am by nearing the end of my study abroad. As I write this post, I can't promise that I'm not crying onto my keyboard. It is hard to accept that the best 3 months of my life are coming to an end... but as they say, as much as they do say it, "When one door closes, another door opens." In this post, I am going to share a few of my most faourite memories from my study abroad experience, my next chapter, and some of U of T's options for international experience.
I will definitely miss the views of walking through Sommerset house to my classes everyday.
