Learning Labs (1.5)

In the spirit of continuous improvement, the Learning Well Programs from Academic Success have been expanded to include Learning Labs. Learning Labs are an innovative addition to the program, allowing students to actively engage in practicing their skills. These in-person practice sessions provide a dynamic space for experimentation, with proven learning strategies guided by learning strategists and dedicated peer mentors.

Participants are encouraged to bring course materials for a hands-on troubleshooting experience, fostering a supportive community dedicated to deepening the learning processes through reflection and strategic review. In the post-program survey, participants gave Learning Labs an average rating of 9.3/10 and reflected that “I learned how to ask reflective questions to aid with learning, and how pre- and post-reading strategies like brain dumping and listing can help me check my understanding and recall better.”

These programs are developed and delivered by the Central Team at Academic Success: Rahul Bhat, Carol Ducharme, Victoria Sheldon, Ayeshika Wickremasinghe, Heather Nelson, Alex Bowie and Yaseen Ali.
