#JoyatUofT: Balancing Self-Care and Studying During Reading Week (and Beyond!)

Missed our #JoyatUofT Facebook Live? Watch the replay here! 🤩 University of Toronto students Izzy, Amal and Jo from Academic Success and Health & Wellness share tips for finding balance (which will look different for everyone), keeping calm and getting things done over Reading Week while still doing things that bring you joy at U of T.

Don't have time to watch the full video? Here are 5 key takeaways to help you balance self-care and studying:

1. Scheduling: Book time in your schedule for work, breaks and other activities that make you happy.

2. Attend a workshop: Go to a Time-Management Bootcamp, and learn things like prioritizing, time-batching or backwards planning. Check the Academic Success calendar on CLNx for the next workshop.

3. Build a mental health toolkit: Fill it with support resources, like the Peer Support Service, the Navi chatbot, and Telus Health Student Support which you can call if you need someone to talk to right away.

4. Take time to socialize: Did you know that making time for social connection can actually boost your focus rather than reduce it? Connect with peers by joining a Study Hub – and just making time to socialize.

5. Prioritize self-care! Practice mindfulness, spend time with friends, make art, dance like nobody's watching, get outside, breathe and get good sleep!
