Snowshoeing & Anishnaabemowin Storytelling with Albert Owl (1.1)

This workshop was based on Indigenous approaches to learning and ways of knowing. The offerings included a land-based activity (snowshoeing), a language and storytelling activity using Indigenous modality (charades with no English translation) and sharing an Indigenous meal (tacos). Participants were provided with an empowering experiential learning opportunity, immersing them in Indigenous cosmology and languages.

This event also contributed to the University’s overall response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action as it featured the promotion of Indigenous languages and supported the well-being of Indigenous students at U of T.
