Increasing Diversity in Learning Abroad Experiences (3.1)

To foster a globally inclusive learning environment, Learning Abroad is working to enhance the diversity of students participating in international experiences. Recognizing the importance of representation, the team has successfully increased engagement from underrepresented groups, including Black, Indigenous, persons of color, students with disabilities, individuals from low-income backgrounds and those who are the first in their family to embark on such educational journeys.

This year, Learning Abroad announced a significant milestone: additional funding through the Global Skills Opportunity program, specifically designed to support diverse populations. This initiative broadens access and addresses financial barriers, ensuring all students are able to benefit from these enriching experiences.

Learning Abroad remains committed to the principles of equity, access and inclusion. Through collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships, Learning Abroad will continue to break down barriers and create pathways for students to explore, learn and thrive in a global context.
