Accessibility Statement
We understand access to be a shared responsibility. We will strive to create an accessible event space that reduces the need for you to disclose a disability or impairment for the purposes of gaining an accommodation. In doing this together, we strive to provide an inclusive and accessible event space for all attendees.
There will be food and drinks served during the reception. We endeavour to offer food that meets a variety of dietary needs while offering a variety of textures. During registration, please feel free to share any specific dietary accommodations and we will do our best to meet them.
The event is scent-free, and we kindly ask attendees not to wear perfumes to accommodate chemical sensitivities.
This is a family-friendly event. Children are welcome so long as they are with a parent/guardian at all times during the event.
The documentary will be screened with captions. Please contact us in advance for other accommodations during the screening.
Two quiet spaces will be available for attendees who may need a break:
- A lounge area on the 2nd floor
- Down the hallway that leads to the accessible washrooms
Venue Details
Innis College, our venue for this event, is equipped with several features geared towards accessibility for all. The building is wheelchair accessible on the ground level, where the Innis Town Hall is located. Accessible washrooms are available next to the administration area on this floor. In the east wing, the 2nd and 3rd floors are elevator accessible. Please note that ongoing construction has rendered certain areas of the building inaccessible, including the Innis Green and entire west wing.
