Author: Karim

Hey guys, my name is Karim and I’m a Criminology major here at UofT. With this opportunity to blog here weekly, I hope to try a ton of new things and share them here with all of you. Some hobbies that I enjoy are playing the guitar and writing music, watching anime, making videos, and writing comedy skits. Something that I’ve been wanting to work on is meeting new people, and I think going out and experiencing new things to write about in this blog will really help with that.

It's corny, but I can't think of another way to say this - music takes me to another place. This makes keeping music a big part of my routine all the more essential during a school year which can get…

So, I have this problem. It is impossible for me to do school assignments at home since it's a place where I can do nothing but just hang out and relax. So, my solution during my years here at U…

Learning an instrument

Posted on: September 12, 2018 Last updated on: September 11, 2018 Written by: Karim Comments: 2
A little over a year ago, I was left feeling pretty burnt out after my first year of university. A big question I was facing within myself was about what I would use as an outlet for all of the negativity…

Organizing my streaming schedule

Posted on: August 29, 2018 Last updated on: August 29, 2018 Written by: Karim Comments: 0
Streaming shows, movies, and videos on the internet have been a plague to my GPA efforts in previous years. YouTube rabbit holes, seasonal anime, Netflix binges - you name it. These have been the number-one source of wasted time during school…

Keeping a clear head through creative writing

Posted on: August 8, 2018 Last updated on: August 8, 2018 Written by: Karim Comments: 0
I'm a person that can’t get through life without my hobbies. It's really important, I think, to take time every day to decompress and do what you love. I will admit, though, that many of my hobbies in the past…

Annotating my books

Posted on: July 25, 2018 Last updated on: July 25, 2018 Written by: Karim Comments: 0
A habit that I've picked up recently is annotating personal copies of books that I'm reading by writing criticisms, underlining brilliant passages, or writing in the margins about things I like or relate to. I used to be a person…
