Reflection/Student Appreciation Event @CCP

Last week, students, staff, and community partners involved with The Centre For Community Partnerships all gathered in Koffler House for a reflection and student/community partner appreciation event where had dinner, chatted amongst ourselves, and celebrated the exceptional work everyone did this year. It was really nice to see many people from CCP all gathered in one place, when usually we are all scattered across campus, working on various different projects and initiatives. It gave me the chance to catch up with students who I had not spoken to in a long time and gave me a chance to ask about how their year went. I also met some new faces and had a really interesting conversation with a two people about the UofT experience as a whole, the work-study program, what we learned at CCP, and how the work that we’ve all done here has shaped us for the future. It was a really uplifting discussion and I’m glad that I was able to talk to such inspiring folk.  Among the crowd gathered were Alternative Reading Week project leaders, Community Kitchen representatives, community partners, other work-study students (including me). Seeing everyone’s presence in the room simultaneously impressed on me just how far-reaching and diverse CCP is and how many people it has touched. In the first half of the event, some notable people gave speeches and were recognized about the work they’ve done this year and there was also a slideshow presented that showcased through pictures all the wonderful work that has happened through CCP this year so I’ve shared some below. Next week will be my last post, so stay tuned for that! I hope everyone is doing well and not stressing too much about the impending exams. You can do it, I believe in you! Have a great week ahead.
