Things That Bring Me Joy

To me, writing a blog post about the things that bring joy in life is a wonderful way to focus on the positive side of life and cultivate gratitude. For many people, joy can come from everyday things that bring a smile to their face. Here are some things that I wanted to share that bring me joy, and can hopefully provide people with ideas for new things to try out. I also wanted to write about why it's important to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate these things in your life.

Things that bring me immense joy, include spending time with loved ones, whether its family or close friends, and surrounding myself with good company to do fun activities with such as going on fun adventures, or simply enjoying each other's company. Spending time with people who make me feel loved and appreciated can be a source of great joy. Moreover, another thing that brings me joy is engaging in my passions and hobbies. Being a DJ and music producer, I enjoy spending time making and listening to music and mixing music together.

Another hobby that I have recently taken up is jiu jitsu at the University of Toronto. Learning a martial art has taught me so much about patience, tolerance, discipline and remaining calm in difficult situations. The progression of one's ability in a martial art like jiu jitsu, or in making music as well, has made me feel joy as it has allowed me to prove to myself that anything is possible if you truly put your mind to it.

As a student, getting involved on campus and taking part in activities that interest me has brought me joy as well, such as taking part in intramural football. Being in a team has helped me learn so much and has taught me collaboration and teamwork skills that I will forever be grateful for. Being involved at the University of Toronto campus radio station, working on music and helping others out as a volunteer, whilst working alongside an amazing team as well, as a digital storyteller are all things that bring me immense joy and have taught me so much about collaboration skills, and have helped me increase my confidence so much by learning from other amazing people.

Whether you're an avid reader, enjoy painting, or love playing sports, taking the time to pursue what you love can bring you immense happiness. When you're doing something you're passionate about, you can forget about all your worries and just enjoy the moment, and that's, I feel, is something to truly cherish.

Lastly, indulging in self care can also bring a lot of joy. Whether it's practicing yoga, dancing, playing an instrument, or simply taking a nap, doing things that make you feel good and relaxed can bring you joy. As a student at the University of Toronto, there are so many different study spots that I enjoy relaxing at. Taking care of your mental health as well as physical health is important for overall well-being, and it can bring a lot of happiness to your life. Even if it may be difficult in the beginning, it is definitely worth it in the long run.

Joy can come from so many different areas in life, such as from spending time with loved ones, engaging in your passions and hobbies, to following your dreams, to taking care of yourself both mentally and physically. It's important to take a moment to contemplate on what brings us joy, and to remember to be grateful for the positive things in our lives.

  1. My greatest joy is seeing my kids grow well, have dreams, and do their best to have a bright future. I am also happy helping my family, friends, and the people around me, even in a simple way.
