Young people in the GTA have several options when it comes to choosing a high school. Below is information on the school boards located near the U of T campuses.
Toronto District School Board (TDSB)
The TDSB offers a wide range of schools, programs, and courses. To find your local school, visit the TDSB website.
Program Options:
- Indigenous Education: Includes Native Second Language programs and schools focused on Indigenous learning. Contact schools directly, as well as the Urban Indigenous Education Centre of Excellence for more information.
- Africentric Programs: Offered at Winston Churchill CI (Leonard Braithwaite Program) and Downsview SS (Africentric Secondary Program). Apply directly to these schools.
- French Programs: Extended and immersion programs are available at select high schools. Learn more about French programs.
- Secondary Central Student Interest Programs: Applications are available online from November 4 to November 22, 2024, at 4 pm. Includes:
- Alternative Schools: Explore a list of alternative schools. Applications are submitted directly to each school. The TDSB’s Triangle Program, Canada’s only high school program for LGBTQI2+, is within the Oasis Alternative Secondary School.
Some programs only admit students in grade 9, while others accept students throughout high school. Learn more by attending an open house or information night.

- Peel District School Board: Offers Secondary Regional Learning Choice Programs. Application period: November 5 – November 26 at 3:00 pm.
