{"id":36591,"date":"2018-11-16T12:13:35","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T17:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.studentlife.utoronto.ca\/lifeatuoft\/?p=36591"},"modified":"2018-11-16T12:13:35","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T17:13:35","slug":"leading-with-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.studentlife.utoronto.ca\/lifeatuoft\/2018\/11\/16\/leading-with-failure\/","title":{"rendered":"Leading with failure"},"content":{"rendered":"Only 3 weeks left of school,\r\nplaying catch up with the semester\r\ntiny breaks of procrastination\r\nso tempting\r\nto this flame burning out\r\nStill flickering on\r\nas bright as I can\r\n\r\nFeedback in numbers,\r\ncomments\r\ncheckmarks\r\nscribbles\r\nquestion marks\r\nstrikethroughs\r\n\r\nAm I above,\r\nbelow,\r\nor\r\naverage?\r\n\r\nStill feeling like an impostor\r\neven after 4 years.\r\ncompeting to be chosen\r\n\r\nbut we can all be seen\r\nwhen we keep looking\r\nlistening\r\nsharing\r\n\r\nalways assumed that\r\nleading meant succeeding,\r\nto ignore failing\r\nJust focus on the rise\r\nforget about the falls.\r\nOnly share the good stuff,\r\nno room for troubles on the cloud\r\nstick to highlights\r\nsilver linings\r\n\r\nDon't count the losses\r\nOnly the wins,\r\nthe likes and the views,\r\nthe checkmarks and great jobs\r\nthe honours and awards\r\n\r\nI could show you all my highs,\r\nbut do you wanna see my lows?\r\n\r\nfill my feed with first drafts,\r\nmistakes,\r\ntroubles,\r\nregrets\r\n\r\nCan I learn how to fail?\r\nIs there a course for that?\r\nHow to fall more deeply,\r\nhow to sit in my suck\r\nand how to get back up\r\n\r\nOver and over\r\nAgain\r\n\r\nCan I let my failures lead the way?\r\n\r\nLet myself\r\nFall down\r\nRise up\r\nLead on\r\n\r\nwell I'm gonna try.\r\n\r\nHow do you feel about failure?<\/em>\r\n\r\n\"venn<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
