I'm still in full school mode, waking up on time for class.

School puts me in a super-active state of mind. I have to keep on doing things, and there's always something to do. While I still have assignments due next week, I need to learn to take a breath.

I'm finding it difficult to unwind and forget about all the homework I still have to do. My previous method of relaxing - frantically finishing all my homework and assignments before taking a breather - is not longer feasible in university. The work never really ends, which is fine because that's what I signed up for.

In the spirit of taking a break, I'm sharing my experiences attempting to relax and what I've been up to:

Going for a swim: I tried dipping my toes in the water to forget about my messy school life. It didn't work because I had my phone and kept checking Quercus for grades. Sad.

Going for a run: surely it's more difficult to check my phone when I'm running, right? This method kind of worked - it was imperfect because I needed to stop to cool down and inevitably began logging onto Quercus again.

Going shopping at Nordstrom: this is fun. I love wasting money when I'm bored - it makes me feel like I'm being productive, and that's all that matters.

Sitting in the library: I have my books in front of me. All this information that I have to learn - fast. I'm hoping this paper will write itself because I just spent a third of my time staring out into space.

Sitting at home: I have my books in front of me. I could be at the library doing this. At least then I would have the facade of being studious.

Catching up with friends: I'm trying. It's tough because a lot of them flew off to New York or London.

Cleaning: anything to procrastinate. I will cook a three course meal before I start on doing things that are more pertinent.

As you can see, I can't come up with things to decompress and relax. Maybe I'll have better luck in the next few days.
