Though school may have only just started,\u00a0I've already grown tired of frequenting the same Starbucks every day, and my wallet is really feeling the pinch. This week I decided to kill two birds with one stone: explore\u00a0as many student run caf\u00e9s and restaurants as I could in order to find\u00a0a place that I wouldn't mind spending time in, and that wouldn't hurt my wallet.\r\n\r\nDiabolos Coffee Bar<\/strong>\"a\r\n\r\nAfter a hiatus last year, UC's 50\u00a0year old student run cafe is back and better than ever. Diabolos' space in UC's Junior Common Room was recently renovated into a bright and airy one, dotted with ivy and tiny\u00a0succulents. Diabolos specializes in espresso based drinks (all of which can be found under $3!), but also offers delicious locally baked cookies, kombucha, as well as\u00a0vegetarian wraps and sandwiches.\r\n\r\n\"photo<\/a>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\"photo<\/a>\r\n\r\nWhere to find it:<\/strong> \u00a0Inside the Junior Common Room<\/a> in University College\r\n\r\nHours:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to\u00a06:00 p.m.,\u00a0Friday 10:00 a.m. to\u00a02:00 p.m.\r\n\r\nFavourite Order:<\/strong> Cappuccino (and a soft ginger cookie)\r\n\r\n\"photo<\/a> \"close<\/a>\r\n\r\nHarvest Noon Caf\u00e9 Co-Op\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"photo<\/a>\r\n\r\nHarvest Noon is a student-run co-op caf\u00e9 and restaurant. Their food is freshly prepared in house, locally sourced, and veggie\/vegan friendly. Their space at the top of the Graduate Students Union Building is probably the most relaxing place I've been on campus. Giant windows fill the space with natural light and there are plenty of cozy bench seats. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. everyday, but make sure to arrive early! They sell out fast.\r\n\r\n

Harvest Noon locally sources most of their ingredients, and to prove it they have a mural painted on one wall highlighting where in Ontario each ingredient comes from!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\"DSC08443\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n

I decided to try something new and bought a dill pickle cupcake, it was surprisingly delicious!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhere to find it:<\/strong> Top floor of the Graduate Students' Union<\/a>\r\n\r\nHours:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\r\n\r\nFavourite Order:\u00a0<\/strong>Make sure to try their freshly baked bread.\r\n\r\n\"sillohuette<\/a>\r\n\r\nCaffiends<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"photo<\/a>\r\n\r\nCaffiends is an entirely volunteer run cafe housed in Old Vic, offering ridiculously cheap\u00a0espresso based drinks, baked goods and $1 coffee!
