Since first year I've been telling myself that I was going to go there\u00a0just as soon as I finished all my readings and essays or maybe after exams\u00a0<\/em>but it never happened... until now!\r\n\r\nI checked out the current\u00a0exhibition, Vesalius at 500<\/a>, and really enjoyed the history of it (although the science aspects were totally lost on this arts student).\u00a0The day before I went I had\u00a0requested<\/a>\u00a0a book to be taken out of the stacks so that I could look at it (a first edition of Les Mis\u00e9rables) so I then went down to the reading room and geeked out a little\u00a0(a lot).\r\n\r\nI'm totally going back in September to see\u00a0the next exhibit, Fierce Imaginings: text and image in First World War literature.\r\n\r\nCheck out the pictures and scans that I took while I was there\r\n\r\n

Les Mis\u00e9rables is my favourite book ( I have three copies of it and refuse to admit I have a problem... so if you see any at any used book stores or the used book sales on campus this fall tell me so I can buy more copies of it). I was very very very excited to look through this first edition of it! 10 beautiful volumes of it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\n

Here's the giant scanner that lets you scan pages of books. Obviously I had to scan the first\u00a0page of my favourite (\/saddest) chapter in Les Mis, even if I can't read it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\n
