Play Me, I’m Yours

Some of you may have noticed that there's a piano sitting on Willcocks Commons. You know, the stretch of patio furniture and green between Lash Miller and Sid Smith. My desk buddy Jennifer and I decided to investigate last week, and let me tell you, we had wayyyy too much fun for two people who were supposed to be working.

Turns out the piano is actually one of 41 across the city commemorating the 2015 PanAm Games, which will be hosted in Toronto. Why 41 pianos? Each piano represents one of the 41 participating countries. The project is called "Play Me, I'm Yours" and is a visual art display, with pianos painted by artists from the 41 countries. The one here represents Bolivia.

Jennifer has agreed to play a little bit of  Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" for us. Let's listen to some music, shall we? - Crystal To learn more about Play Me, I'm Yours, visit www.streetpianos.ca. There is even a page for the U of T Piano! If you have any pictures or videos, remember to share them on their website! Want to hear more from the Bolivia piano? Here's a video of a U of T music student, Alex Soloway, showcasing his amazing piano skills.
