The Final Words…

I had a lot of trouble thinking about what to write for my last post. How do I end off this wonderful year, and put close the chapter  to the spectacular time I have shared with all my readers here on UpbeaT? Perhaps with a few parting words of advice, of inspiration and at the risk of sounding cliché, a good ole heart-to-heart!

In a time of economic crisis, where employers and workers alike suffer through tough times, lack of funding and increasing expenses, I think we are blessed. We, as students, have such a wonderful life. We have the opportunity to become better people every single day, and learn more about ourselves and the world around us.

As the school year comes to an end, how can we take the most from the previous experiences and look to the future with renewed hope? Look to the new school year and take your experiences from this year as a chance to improve the future even before it starts.

Make decisions from your heart – you can argue both sides of every case, but when it comes down to it sometimes the best way to decide what do is to feel with your heart…

Take risks – look for something more, something bigger, make a story. Some are short stories, some are long stories, but the size doesn’t make a story any less important.

Look for the beautiful – life is tough, everyone knows that. But it is worth fighting for the beautiful in life. It’s worth searching for the moments that make life romantic, and interesting and wonderful and exciting.

Write your own rules – drop the labels, shed the constraints, break the boundaries and jump the obstacles. Try to live your life by your own rules and add a little flair to the world around you.

Take advantage of the opportunity – students are lucky. For such a small price we have the opportunity to learn more about the world around us. Every time we enter a classroom, we go in as one person and we leave as someone totally different. Within fifty minutes, a little part of us changes, a little part of us grows. We don’t have to worry about mortgages or raising families or anything else. This is the only time in our life when the whole world will tell us to become better ourselves. After school, the world will take from us. This is the opportunity for you to take what the world has to offer.

End every school year on a good note - and start every new school year with renewed energy. Every school year, despite the trials and tribulations, provides growth and development of every student. Look back on this year as a positive every experience, and look to enhance your experience for next year.

Have a wonderful summer!
