Academic Success and Wellness Resources

Being a student can be hard, and it can sometimes feel like you are alone and struggling. The University of Toronto has many resources which students can use to ensure their university experience goes more smoothly, but the vast number of available resources may seem daunting to navigate. To aid you in your search, we have compiled a list of on-campus resources, including a brief description and their contact information for graduate and undergraduate students.  Please note that this is not a complete list, and for further information, please browse the in-depth listing of academic resources. and/or the full listing of wellness resources on/off-campus.

Tri-Campus Resources

  • Services Offered: Good2Talk is a 27/7/365 helpline for students that provides professional counselling, as well as information, and referrals for mental health, addictions and well-being.



  • Location: Digital Resource
  • Contact Information: To get started just download the mobile app from the Apple App Store/Google Play or call 1-844-451-9700
  • Services Offered: My SSP provides international students with immediate and/or ongoing confidential, 24-hour support for any school, health, or general life concern at no cost to you. You can call or chat with a counselor directly from your phone whenever, wherever you are.

  • Contact Information: To register for Big White Wall visit
  • Services Offered: Big White Wall  is an online chat-based mental health and well-being service offering self-help programs, creative outlets and a community that cares.


Graduate Conflict Resolution Centre

  • Location: Various Locations Across All Three Campuses
  • Contact Information: Use your UTORid to log onto the Career and Co-Curricular Learning Network to make an appointment with an Advisor.
  • Services Offered: If you are experiencing a conflict and wish to get advice on how to handle it, you can book a confidential appointment with one of the CRC’s Peer Advisors.  These Advisors are trained in conflict resolution and can offer advice about a wide variety of conflict-related issues.

Academic Success

  • Location: Koffler Student Services Centre, 214 College St., First Floor

  • Services Offered: Staff work with students at any stage of their undergraduate or graduate degrees, in any discipline. They offer a designated study space, a strategies section, workshops, and the opportunity to meet with a Learning Strategist.


Accessibility Services

  • Location: 455 Spadina Avenue, 4th Floor, Suite 400
  • Contact Information: 416-978-8060,
  • Services Offered: Provides services and academic accommodations to students who have a documented learning, physical, sensory, mental health disability or medical condition. Services include financial support, access to assistive technology, note-taking services, tutoring and assistance in requesting an extension.  If you think you require these services please visit their registration webpage.


Writing Centres

  • Location: Various Locations Across Campus
  • Contact Information: Please contact your respective college or faculty to access their writing center
  • Services Offered: You can make an appointment to meet with a writing specialist who can help you brainstorm for your next assignment or provide feedback on your current project. This is an excellent resource for those who are unsure of how to start an assignment or want help making it the best it can be.


Health and Wellness Centre

  • Location: Koffler Student Services Centre, 214 College Street, Second Floor
  • Contact Information: To book your first appointment visit their office or call 416-978-8030
  • Services Offered: Health and Wellness offers the same services as a family physician, available to eligible University of Toronto students.  Doctors at Health and Wellness are your first contact for receiving many other U of T affiliated mental health services such as workshops and cognitive behavioral therapy. You may also wish to access same-day, single-session drop-in counseling. The clinic also accepts drop-in appointments on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mississauga Campus

Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre

  • Location: New North Building, 3359 Mississauga Road, Room 3251

  • Services Offered: They offer a full range of workshops, seminars and individual consultations to help students identify and develop the academic skills they need for success in their studies.


Accessibility Services

  • Location: Davis Building, 3359 Mississauga Road, Room 2037
  • Contact Information: 905-569-4699,
  • Services Offered: Provides services and academic accommodations to students who have a documented learning, physical, sensory, mental health disability or medical condition.  Some services include note-taking services, memory aid procedures and accommodations for tests and exams.  To book an appointment with an advisor please contact the office.


Health and Counselling Centre

  • Location: Davis Building, 3359 Mississauga Road, Room 1123A
  • Contact Information: To book an appointment call 905-828-5255
  • Services Offered: They offer a wide range of physical and mental health-related services to UTM students including, but not limited to, short-term and crisis support, counseling, birth control, pregnancy testing and referrals to other specialists.


Scarborough Campus

Academic Advising & Career Centre

  • Services Offered: The Centre offers many services including developmental advising, learning skills, career counseling and employment coaching through individual appointments, workshops, experiential programming, events and a range of online resources.


AccessAbility Services

  • Location: Arts & Administration Building, 1265 Military Trail, Room AA142

  • Services Offered: Provides services and academic accommodations to students who have a documented learning, physical, sensory, mental health disability or medical condition. The services available include but are not limited to counseling to develop strategies to succeed at university, accommodation for tests and exams, notetaking, learning skills support for students with learning disabilities, access to assistive technology, and referrals within the university and to community organizations.


Health and Wellness Centre

  • Services Offered: In addition to traditional services offered by a family physician, they provide personal counseling and group therapy services for students registered at UTSC with a valid student card and health card.

Emily Pritchard

Emily is currently completing her undergraduate degree with a specialist in Criminology and a minor in Sociology. She plans to pursue a career in social work, with a focus on working with children and youth. When not studying or working at the Family Care Office, she spends her time reading the latest books and trying out new recipes. So, that’s Emily in a nutshell, reading, writing and cooking. Quite the picture, I’m sure!
