In March 2021, the Innovation Hub and the Centre for Learning, Leadership & Culture will launch a Design Thinking Experience Program (DTEP) for students and staff. Building on the success of the Innovation Hub\u2019s student and staff DTEP bootcamps, this program will continue to address challenges in the student experience at UofT while providing participants with hands-on training in design thinking; moreover, it will bring staff and students together to encourage dialogue and broaden perspectives on what is possible at UofT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By joining the ten-week DTEP, you\u2019ll work on a project to improve student life. You\u2019ll collect student stories through empathy-based methods like interviews, discussions, and observations, and you\u2019ll uncover insights into unmet needs and prototype potential solutions. At the same time, you\u2019ll learn and practice design thinking and qualitative research. The skills you\u2019ll gain will be useful on your resume and in the workplace, and the team you\u2019ll meet will be a great place to build connections. Our teams will have both staff and students, so you\u2019ll get a chance to see how UofT functions \u2018behind the curtain\u2019 and inspire change.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program runs from March 5th to May 7th<\/strong>. Commitment is intensive: there will be a mandatory two-hour workshop each week, plus three hours of additional work. Because we work on genuine projects with deliverables and deadlines, we ask that participants commit to full attendance and participation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
