As we work and learn in these uncertain times of COVID-19, the Innovation Hub has been thinking deeply about our projects this summer, and how they can truly benefit the UofT community and beyond. We want to offer our potential team members the opportunity to both contribute to the university and learn new skills during these times. We\u2019re looking for dedicated students who are interested in improving campus life by focusing on student needs, who want to work with design thinking inspired methods, and also have the ability to work remotely and engage in virtual project work in collaborative environments. The Data Analysis Team Lead oversees data entry and analysis for all Innovation Hub projects.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Leading a team of Data Analysis Research Assistants who are embedded within individual design research projects, they support the collection and transcription of data, de-identification and anonymization, coding in a qualitative research software program, and full data analysis. This includes overseeing the analysis of ethnographic data to uncover trends and distill key themes and insights (such as values and needs) and support the research teams in presenting and reporting on the results of their analysis.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Ethnography & Insights\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Team Lead oversees data\u00a0<\/span><\/span>collection\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and analysis for all Innovation Hub projects.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Leading a team of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Ethnography & Insights Research Assistants who are\u00a0<\/span><\/span>embedded within individual design<\/span><\/span>\u00a0research projects, they oversee<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0participant recruitment plans, design of interview guides and observation plans,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0collection and transcription of data, de-id<\/span><\/span>entification and anonymization. This includes reviewing transcripts and coaching team members on effective ethnographic and empathy-based data collection and supporting the effective\u00a0<\/span><\/span>analysis of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>data to uncover themes and insights. They also\u00a0<\/span><\/span>support the research teams in presenting and reporting on the results of their analysis.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Data Analysis\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Researcher\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u2013 Existing Data supports the Innovation Hub with their<\/span><\/span>\u00a0subject\u00a0<\/span><\/span>mat<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>er<\/span><\/span>\u00a0expertise in data coding and analysis. The Data Analysis Researcher supports the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0analysis of a large set of existing ethnographic data from stakeholders at the University of Toronto. Their role is to ask new questions of the data (housed in the Innovation Hub\u2019s qualitative research software) and generate new insights to inform current and future projects. They play a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>critical role in data anal<\/span><\/span>ysis and insights generation,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0ensurin<\/span><\/span>g that design research data translates<\/span><\/span>\u00a0into meaningful insights\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that can be articulated into<\/span><\/span>\u00a0actions.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Successful candidates in this role will be looking at the data through the lens of the Innovation Hub\u2019s 5 Domains of Innovation and working together to prepare a brief report of the insights gleaned from the work to share with the broader university community.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Data Analysis\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Researcher\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u2013 Existing Data supports the Innovation Hub with their<\/span><\/span>\u00a0subject\u00a0<\/span>mater<\/span>\u00a0expertise in data coding and analysis. The writer also\u00a0<\/span><\/span>oversee<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>all writing content produced\u00a0<\/span><\/span>within project teams<\/span><\/span>. From marketing with the intended audience, to designing and redesigning elements of the project or related to the project, there is a lot of room for collaboration and creativity in this role!<\/p>\n Specifically,\u00a0the Stories from a Distance: Being Together, While Apart is a daily live check-in program open to all University of Toronto students and alumni\u00a0that includes both live connection calls and ongoing connection via a closed Facebook group. The project team will work together to build and grow this program to ensure that all participants feel well supported. Project team members may play many roles in supporting this project. From marketing with the intended audience, to designing and redesigning elements of the project or related to the project, there is a lot of room for collaboration and creativity in this role!<\/p>\n Specifically,\u00a0the\u00a0Community, Social Connection & Support\u00a0team will work as part of a staff and student community of practice (CoP) that focuses\u00a0on community building with all students,\u00a0in particular supporting\u00a0those who are experiencing isolation and loneliness. Seeking to engage students and partners from across the tri-campus in identifying challenges to social connection and finding community during the pandemic, members of the\u00a0CoP\u00a0will share resources and make recommendations for the development of collaborative programming and\/or resources that meet emerging student needs. The goal of this CoP is to ensure that every student can find community and support during these challenging times, should they wish to do so.<\/p>\n The Innovation Hub\u00a0Project Team\u00a0works together on bringing an Innovation Hub initiative to life. Project team members may play many roles in supporting this project. From marketing with the intended audience, to designing and redesigning elements of the project or related to the project, there is a lot of room for collaboration and creativity in this role!<\/p>\n Specifically,\u00a0the\u00a0Transforming the Instructional Landscape is\u00a0a project that recognizes that in the classroom, many players come together: instructors and students, but also staff working in instructional technology, accessibility, scheduling and support. Incorporating the needs of all these stakeholders is\u00a0complex, but\u00a0working together can transform spaces to better support teaching and learning. The project team will work in partnership with others at the university to carry on the work of this important project.
