Robarts Library: Finding Inspiration Through Student Perspective<\/h1>\n\t

As a central library in the UofT library system, Robarts Library is a key space that students frequently visit during their time at the university. In order to understand what students need and desire in library spaces, Robarts partnered with the Innovation Hub to collect student stories on their experiences at this UofT Library.<\/p>\n\t

What do students need in library spaces?<\/h1>\n\t

Whether it’s studying, relaxing, or chatting with friends, students spend a lot of time in campus libraries. By delivering a series of student and staff feedback sessions, the Innovation Hub explored how students use and experience library spaces. These insights will then be used during the design process of new library spaces at\u00a0Robarts Library\u00a0in order to ensure student needs are met.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFINAL REPORT\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBLOG POST\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\"Report\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t

KEY FINDINGS<\/h1>\n\t

Libraries evoke a sense of wonder that inspires students to explore new possibilities.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

This key finding can be broken down into three main themes:<\/p>\n

  1. Libraries are Catalysts for Student Development:<\/strong>\u00a0they allow students to find growth and inspiration in both the negative and positive moments of their student experience\u00a0<\/li>\n
  2. Libraries are the Home of\u00a0Conversations:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>they facilitate the discourse between students and themselves, their work, as well\u00a0as the\u00a0many others around them, encouraging the development of a sense of wonder through these connections<\/li>\n
  3. Libraries are a Place of Opportunity:\u00a0<\/strong>libraries serve as the great equalizer for students and provide the fundamental toolkit that each student\u00a0needs\u00a0in order to\u00a0thrive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
