The Centre for Community Partnerships (CCP) offered nine faculty development workshops and events to support U of T instructors as they designed and delivered community-engaged learning (CEL) courses.
Course development workshops introduced faculty to the principles and best practices in CEL course design and delivery. Faculty-led community of practice gatherings and roundtables brought together instructors who teach (or are interested in teaching) CEL courses, to discuss topics including fostering respectful partnerships with Indigenous community organizations, navigating power dynamics in community-engaged learning and research, and cultivating sustainable teaching practices.
Through these opportunities for shared learning and discussion, which featured 200 faculty and instructor attendees, this vibrant group of community-engaged instructors continually advances pedagogical practice in support of student learning and community-driven priorities.
