The Student Life Impact report highlights a groundbreaking pilot initiative by the Centre for International Experience (CIE) in collaboration with Health and Wellness (H&W) at the St. George campus. This innovative workshop, designed to bolster the mental health and well-being of international students, fosters a supportive campus environment.
Grounded in the intersectionality framework, the workshop aligns with the pillars of the international student experience—transition in, journey years, and transition out. It also uses the Well-Being Wheel framework to guide international students in crafting a personalized pathway for exploring and navigating their mental health and well-being.
Participants in this pilot initiative are expected to emerge with a profound understanding of the significance of mental health and well-being. They will have the knowledge and tools to develop a plan for their personal journey, while being equipped to recognize and access available resources and support on campus.
While the impact data and student feedback are yet to be collected during this pilot phase, the anticipated winter 2024 launch of the program signals a promising future for enhancing the well-being of the University of Toronto St. George international student community.
