While academics in university has always been important to me, I was always encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. I joined Suits U after attending one of their events in my second year and have been a part of this organization for two years. I thought what it was doing was unique, and I wanted to get involved.
Suits U is a not-for-profit organization with the mission making first impressions matter. We do this by providing students with high quality professional apparel and helping hone their soft-skills. Suits U hosts a wide array of events – everything from tie sales, networking events, and workshops to our flagship event, Dress to Impress. Dress to Impress is the event that our team and students look forward to us the most. This is the culmination of suit drives across professional firms in Toronto where we collect clothing donations and all the logistics and operations that goes into sorting donations and organizing the event. All proceeds from the sale are donated to UNITY charity, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth in Toronto. This year we raised $5,210 for Unity and helped dress over 89 students.
