The University of Toronto’s 2017 tri-campus first generation Trailblazers: Explore conference, which was held on January 28th, was a great success! As Mentors-In-Training with the First In The Family program, we had the honour of helping organize this year’s conference. Therefore, it was a great experience getting to see fellow organizers, speakers Dr. Tayyab Rashid and Femi Lawson, guests, and of course the students themselves, from all three campuses, enjoy the event.

It was also very rewarding for us to see the event finally take form – the Lunar New Year lunch in particular. All in all, it was an incredible experience for us to have had the opportunity to work with so many great people, from all three campuses UTSC, UTM and UTSG, to create an event designed to benefit so many first gen students. We truly hope that everyone who attended the conference had a great time and gained valuable experience that will help you throughout University – and beyond!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
