Our 2016 New Year Issue of the UTChinese magazine was also unveiled at the event.

Every year UTChinese Magazine has always been taking an active role of providing leadership opportunities to not only its staffs but also students at U of T as a whole. This academic year, our group has successfully held a lot of events ranging from Art & Culture aspect to Academic & Career Development stream. Among these outstanding events, we felt that our group has indeed fulfilled our missions and taken initiatives to implement leadership through our New Year Concert.

This is the 10th year that we organize this charity concert. The wish of offering our best help to the people in need is the supporting pillar behind our enormous efforts and persistence in organizing this charity concert. UTChinese Magazine, as a student organization at U of T, our group has recognized the importance of taking responsibilities in the society and does our best-effort delivery to those in need.

Our cumulated donated amount is now over $30,000, which we contributed both through UNICEF Canada and Watsi. On the other hand, our group believes that it is the talented people working behind the curtain makes this organization a special and valuable one. UTChinese Magazine develops a LeadPro Program, which aims to excavate everyone’s potentials of being a leader and then provide them with necessary skills of being a good one.

This program involves precepts on marketing, negotiation, management, communication and so on. Therefore, this program is beneficial to our organization, but more importantly, it will provide some essential and fundamental lessons which will be useful in not only campus life but also in real world careers.

All in all, UTChinese Magazine has achieved a lot in both positively taking leadership responsibilities and creating leadership opportunities to students, yet we still are sparing no efforts to explore more and learn more.
