HELLO! My name is Karim and I'm a new blogger here for Life @ U o fT. This is my first post, and I'm really excited to be able to write for you all regularly.
But before I start dropping those dope weekly blog posts, there are some things that you should know.
Who is this guy?
I'm a student here at U of T heading into my third year of my Criminology major!
Toronto born and bred, I've pretty much been here my entire life. Despite this, I really have no clue about anything in this city besides my classes and good burger places.
Some of my interests and hobbies are:
Writing comedy skits
Playing guitar
Anime and manga
Playing basketball
What I learned from this past year and my new U of T goals
A big realization that I had this year was that, as awesome as finding new hobbies can be, it can be a bit hollow if you're just having fun by yourself. This has sort of been the case for me this past year, and not being involved in many extracurricular activities at school has felt a bit isolating.
The solution: GET OUT AND TRY EVERYTHING THAT THERE IS TO DO AT CAMPUS AND IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO.
I hope that I'll be able to share at least one really awesome thing that I did on campus on this blog with you all every week.
Are you into music? We'll get along nicely
A major change for me this past school year was making music a bigger part of my life and expanding my taste in music more than I ever had before.
I've learned to appreciate all kinds of different music, experimenting with genres like the blues and soul music all the way to more modern stuff like EDM and K-pop (okay, maybe K-pop isn't a "genre" per se, but that's a discussion for another blog post).
I hope that I'll be able to attend all sorts of music events here at U of T, like open mic nights and concerts, so that I can share the experience with you guys on this blog!
What you can expect to see
Club participation
Awesome places to eat
Fun places to play
How to chill out (I’m definitely a pro at chilling)
Honestly, any cool experiences that I have at campus
What else would you guys like to see me write here about? I’m really open-minded about trying all sorts of events, so let me know in the comment section!
What are some good, affordable burger joints? Been at UofT for a year and my friends and I always just hit up burger king
THE BURGERNATOR at Kensington Market makes pretty good burgers
