However, many of the 500+ titles in the FCO Library \u2013 including several recent releases \u2013 can be accessed for free in audiobook and eBook format through Ontario\u2019s public libraries and U of T Libraries. These materials are noted in the FCO\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.utoronto.ca\/c.php?g=251575&amp;p=5093057\">BookList<\/a>, and the book&#8217;s title hyperlinks&nbsp;to its listing in the Toronto Public Library\u2019s OverDrive catalogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many other libraries in Canada also use OverDrive (or an equivalent), so if you aren\u2019t currently in Toronto, you can likely still access digital materials through your local library\u2019s website with a library card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below, you can find instructions on how to borrow e-resources and obtain a library card. If you\u2019re currently unable to visit a branch in person, most libraries also have the option of registering for an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/torontopubliclibrary.typepad.com\/digital-services\/2020\/04\/digital-library-card-tpl2020.html\">Instant Digital Card<\/a>&nbsp;that provides access to digital materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to get a library card<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are eligible for a free library card if you live, work, go to school, or own property in that region. For the Toronto Public Library, you can either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Visit a TPL branch with valid and current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torontopubliclibrary.ca\/using-the-library\/your-library-card\/identification.jsp\">name and address verification<\/a>.<\/li><li>Get a temporary<a href=\"https:\/\/torontopubliclibrary.typepad.com\/digital-services\/2020\/04\/digital-library-card-tpl2020.html\"><strong>Instant Digital Card<\/strong><\/a> that provides access to e-books and audiobooks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For other public libraries in the Greater Toronto Area, below are links with instructions on how to get access to their online catalogue and resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Brampton<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bramptonlibrary.ca\/index.php\/about\/get-a-library-card\">Get an Online Library Card<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Caledon<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/caledon.library.on.ca\/borrow-download-stream\/your-library-card\/\">Your Library Card<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Halton<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhpl.on.ca\/en\/about-us\/virtual-library-cards.aspx\">Virtual Library Cards<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Markham<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/markhampubliclibrary.ca\/get-a-library-card\/\">Get a Library Card<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Mississauga<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mississauga.ca\/library\/using-the-library\/get-a-virtual-library-card\/\">Get a Virtual Library Card<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Newmarket<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.newmarketpl.ca\/Library-Card-Registration\">Membership and Borrowing<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Richmond Hill<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhpl.ca\/services\/borrowing\/membership-and-library-cards\">Library Cards and Membership<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Vaughan<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaughanpl.info\/services\/membership\">Membership<\/a><\/li><li><strong>West Grey (Durham, Elmwood, Neustadt, Ayton)<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westgreylibrary.com\/services-we-offer.html\">Services<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Accessing eBooks and audiobooks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>eBooks and audiobooks can be accessed through OverDrive, which is available either online or through an app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to access content on your mobile device or computer with a screen reader, you must download the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.overdrive.com\/en-us\/home.htm\"><strong>OverDrive<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>app. OverDrive also works on dedicated eReaders, iPods, desktop computers, and mp3 players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.overdrive.com\/apps\/libby\/\"><strong>Libby<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>app (powered by OverDrive) allows users to download content to tablets, phones, and Windows 10 computers. However, Libby is currently not accessible with screen reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TPL has directions \u2013 both PDF guides and video tutorials \u2013 on how to download the apps and link them to your account on any device: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torontopubliclibrary.ca\/books-video-music\/downloads-ebooks\/ebooks-userguides.jsp\"><strong>Toronto Public Library: Getting Started with OverDrive<\/strong><\/a>.
