8 Fun Summertime Activities in the Greater Toronto Area!

Summer is the perfect time to participate in fun-filled family activities that allow your little ones to use their imagination and stay active while they’re on vacation from school! Take a look at our list of exciting activities and have fun in the sun.

  1. Swim at your Local Pool

  2. Attend an Outdoor Festival

    Take a stroll through these exciting festivals for some live musical entertainment, shopping, a kids’ zone with arts and crafts stations, and a diverse array of food to munch on different treats. Some of our favourite outdoor festivals for this summer include:

  3. Take a Nature Walk

    Explore the beauty of natural scenery around you! Your children can go bird-watching, collect pine cones, and learn about the different animals who live alongside us.  For a variety of hiking locations you can visit Toronto Hiking to discover nearby neighbourhood woodlands and trails such as:

  4. Watch a Movie in the Park

    Make the most of the warm weather by coming out to watch the latest movie releases at an outdoor screening in various picturesque parks across the GTA. Grab a blanket, some snacks and your lawn chairs and enjoy with your family underneath the stars.   5. Arts and Sports Classes at your Local Community Centre

    In addition to sports classes, if a youngster wants to paint a picture or create a clay animation, children will enjoy getting in touch with their creative side in art workshops offered at local community centres.   8. Summer Reading Program

    Get your children motivated to read this summer by participating in the Summer Reading Program. Students will set goals for the number of books they want to read in exchange for awesome prizes. This program also offers a variety of interactive drop-in events to help students engage with technology and fun literacy activities.

    Celebrate the summer with a variety of outdoor and indoor activities that will you have you and your family out of the house and enjoying that summer magic.
