DIY School Supplies

pencil crayonsKids love arts and crafts.

You love saving money and helping them prepare for school.

Why not combine both with do-it-yourself personalized school supplies! With only one month before the first bell rings, here are some fun and unique projects to help you get a head start.

Pencil Fun

Help your kids stay organized with no sew Pencil Rolls or these Glittery Graphic Pencil Cases. They can also be creative and decorate ordinary pencils with these ideas from Stencil Pencils. Encourage them to have fun and come up with their own ideas like using favourite sayings or quotes, words from a song, movie or beloved book. Younger kids can decorate with favourite shapes or symbols or their initials.

Colourful Notebooks

Plain, boring notebooks are uninspiring.  Kids can have fun with different colours and textures to personalize their notebooks by subject or they can even create a unique journal or diary for home.  DIY notebook covers has some awesome ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

For older children and the more adventurous, try this fancy rainbow notebook.

Locker Creativity

Do you or your kids like to sew?  Some older kids and teens like their lockers to be a reflection of themselves. Here is a quick and easy project that will help them keep their locker organized by creating a functional locker tote that reflects their own personal style.
