Hit the Gym for Better Grades

You’ll still have to study but if you want to optimize your brain function include exercise as a regular part of your study plan.  Research shows that exercise hour away from your desk will more than pay off when you return rested, alert and calm.  Exercise decreases your stress levels, improves your sleep, and improves attention.  All this will help you study, remember, and perform well.

As a bonus you will also look better, feel better, and reduce your chances of getting short-term illness and long-term disease.  The downside?  That’s it, there is none!  And with your student access to the Athletic Centre and Hart House, your exercise health and study benefits come at no cost, financial or otherwise!

So, the next time you feel sleepy in front of your books, take your stretching to the gym and add 40 minutes of cardio.  Literally sweat your way to better (and happier) academic results.
